DSR®
KVM over IP switches
|
|

|
DSR®
KVM over IP switches provide BIOS-level control
of all connected servers and serial-based
devices in your data center. DSR switches let
you remotely manage and power cycle connected
devices, and provide external modem support when
the network is down. DSR switches feature an
on-board Web interface compatible with Internet
Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox or Netscape for
access and control of your servers over IP.
As an
administrator, you can use DSR KVM switches to
manage remote data centers and branches as if
you were present in each location. This reduces
downtime by providing you with easy access and
control to any connected server or device.
Add
DSView® 3 management software and gain the
benefits of centralized management of your DSR
KVM switches and attached servers. DSView 3
software gives you one common interface to
access and manage console and power management
appliances. It also provides secure access
authentication, a failover hub and spoke
architecture, event notifications, and access to
IPMI-enabled servers.
When
used with selected DSR switches, DSView 3
software provides a Virtual Media capability so
you can map local storage media to a remote
server. |

Analog KVM Matrix
Switching
Analog KVM
matrix switching provides real-time access to
local computing resources. The technology is
implemented in many cases where users require
high quality real-time video connections to
multiple computers, as in test labs, design
environments and broadcast studios. In other
cases the technology may be used to manage small
single location data centers because of
simplicity of installation and setup. Analog KVM
matrix switching may also be found in larger
data centers as a local analog backup connection
to the KVM over IP management system.

Broadcast
KVM Switching

Post production environments and
broadcast machine rooms have become
increasingly dependent on computers to
generate and manipulate video and audio
content. Broadcasters are seeking
solutions that enable them to back rack
their critical computing resources and
allocate them as needed. Operators can
then access computers located securely
away from the broadcast studio.
From the point of view of IT engineers,
centralizing computer resources also
simplifies reconfigurations and eases
administration as the broadcast
environment changes. |

AutoView® Simpler KVM
access and virtual media support for midsize
data centers
|
|
|
You can enjoy
simpler KVM switching with local virtual media
support, advanced cabling options and easier
access to servers and other network devices in
your midsize data center. With Avocent AutoView
KVM switches, your choices have never been
better.
AutoView KVM switching systems feature new
advanced cabling options that let you manage
PS/2, USB, Sun and serial devices from one
solution. Integrated access cables provide
keyboard, video and mouse connectivity in one,
slim CAT 5 cable, which reduces cable bulk and
saves time and money. A smart chip interface
automatically assigns and retains unique server
names for each attached server.
You can connect multi-platform servers to a
single switch and configure servers at the rack
with a user-friendly on-screen display (OSD).
The convenient OSD lets you easily name and
select your servers.
The AutoView 2020 and 2030 switches feature
local virtual media for connecting USB media
devices. With virtual media, you can transfer
data that is stored on CDs, USB thumb drives,
USB external hard drives or any other media
source between targets. |

Desktop KVM
Switches
As the
number of PCs expand in the small office or at
home, you are often faced with issues including
limited desk space and expensive and duplicated
keyboards, monitors and mice. The desk space is
untidy and cable clutter is everywhere. You may
also experience a lack of efficiency in trying
to access multiple PCs and attached devices.
Often there is also a need to share printers,
scanners, MP3 players, cameras, speakers, etc.
between PCs.
Avocent SwitchView® KVM switches provide
immediate solutions to all these problems. You
can use a single keyboard, monitor and mouse to
access multiple PCs. SwitchView KVM switches can
support combinations of PS/2 and USB PCs, and
SwitchView multimedia switches let you share USB
devices, and speakers and a microphone between
PCs. With the Avocent SwitchView DVI switch, you
access multiple DVI computers and can connect a
USB keyboard, mouse and DVI monitor.

Secure KVM
Switching
Avocent supports the critical, secure activities
of government agencies with the industry’s only
NIAP Common Criteria certified KVM switching
system.
The Avocent NIAP certified SwitchView®
SC KVM switching systems are field-proven,
secure solutions for government agencies.
SwitchView SC KVM solutions allow you to switch
safely between computers operating at different
classification levels – all from one switch.
With separate I/O processors and 60db separation
between channels, the SwitchView SC switch
design makes it impossible to transfer data
between the connected computers.
With USB peripheral support, the SwitchView SC4
UAD switch supports USB keyboards and mice,
audio and DVI-I video for resolution up to
1920x1200 @ 60Hz.
The SwitchView SC switching system agency
approval includes NIAP Common Criteria
validation to EAL 4 – a first-in-class security
compliance in the KVM switching industry.
The SwitchView SC8 DVI switch introduces dual
DVI-I video and provides a 2560x1600 @ 60Hz
video resolution. It has eight secure channels,
which allow you to increase the number of
security levels you can monitor. The NIAP
certified 4-port SwitchView SC4 DVI switch
supports PS/2 computers, keyboards and mice and
DVI-I video with a resolution up to 1920x1200 @
60Hz.
SwitchView SC switch products ensure data
integrity between the different classification
levels and are the only KVM switches to achieve
National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP)
Common Criteria validation to EAL 4. NIAP is a
collaboration of the National Institute of
Standards and Technology and the National
Security Agency. It oversees information
technology security standards called Common
Criteria – the essence of NIAP testing.
